Endless Winter: Paleoamericans [NL]

With the new board game Endless Winter, you travel back to 10,000 years BC. When you play the game, you take on the role of various tribal leaders who lead their tribes through different eras. At the beginning of Endless Winter you are in charge of a hunter-gatherer group, which you must help develop into a civilized tribal community throughout the game. You do this by exploring, traveling, expanding your tribe, hunting big game, and building megaliths, large stone buildings.

Each round of Endless Winter involves three different phases: the action phase, the eclipse phase, and the new generation phase. The action phase consists of playing various cards and performing actions. Examples of actions are hunting and developing. With each action performed, you take your tribe one step further. You also prepare for the eclipse phase in the first phase. In the Stone Age, astronomical events regularly occurred that produced great struggles between different tribes. After such events, a new generation took over from the old generation, which happens in the third phase of the game. When these three phases have been carried out, a new round starts in which you develop your tribe. 

The points distributed during Endless Winter are awarded at the end of the game in different areas. This includes the collected animal, tribe and culture cards along with the sacrifice track and the honor track. The one who has collected the most points at the end of the game has succeeded in leading his tribe to prosperity and has won the game. 

For those who want to go a step further into the world of Endless Winter, there are several expansions: Downstream, Ancestors and Cave Paintings. In addition, there are the modules Mammoth, Ceremonies, Faithful Quadrupeds and Aurora Borealis.
